First Trimester Abortion Services
At our Center, the fee for abortion services covers all counseling (life situation options, questions about the procedure, and birth control), all lab tests, medical screening, the surgical procedure, sonogram, recovery room care, post-op medications, and a follow-up visit. The average length of stay at the Center is 2 - 3 hours.
First trimester abortions are performed by a Board Certified Physician between 5 weeks and 11.6 weeks after the beginning of your last regular period. The surgical method used is vacuum aspiration, which is a safe gentle suctioning of the uterus. You can choose local anesthesia, under which you will be awake but receive medication to numb the cervical area, or you can choose twilight or general anesthesia which is an intravenous sedation. After the abortion, you will spend up to one hour in the recovery room, where the medical staff will monitor your condition until you leave the facility. You will be scheduled to return for your follow-up checkup in two to three weeks.

Second Trimester Abortion Services
At our Center, the fee for abortion services covers all counseling (options, pre- and post-op and birth control), all lab tests, medical screening, the surgical procedure, sonogram, laminaria insertion (where indicated), recovery room care and a follow-up visit. The average length of stay at the Center is 3 - 4 hours.

Second trimester abortions are performed by a Board Certified or Eligible Physician within 12 weeks to 17.6 weeks after the beginning of your last regular period. The procedure is performed in one day. The surgical method used is the dilation and evacuation performed (D&E). After the abortion, you will spend up to one hour in the recovery room, where the medical staff will monitor your condition until you leave the facility.You will be scheduled to return for your follow-up checkup in two to three weeks.

Second trimester abortion (18 to 22 weeks) are scheduled as a two day procedure. On the first day of your procedure, you will have lab work, ultrasound and an informational counseling session. You will then be examined by the physician who will insert osmotic dilators into the cervix. These dilators allow for a slow safe dilation and softening of your cervix. You will go home with the dilators in place overnight. On the second day you will have the abortion procedure. The surgical method uses is dilation and evacuation with curettage. General anesthesia is always administered. After the abortion you will spend up to an hour in our recovery room where the medical staff will monitor your condition until you leave. You will be scheduled to return for your follow-up checkup in two to three weeks.

Private Abortion Services
Private appointments were developed as we continually evaluate, expand, and improve our services to better meet the needs of our patients. Private abortion services are available at our center for patients up to 11 weeks. This service offers local anesthesia only. The average length of stay on the day of this appointment is 1½ hours. This one on one service assures the patient the utmost in confidentiality.

Medical Abortion
From 4 - 7 weeks. The medical abortion combines two FDA approved drugs that produce a miscarriage in a majority of patients within one week. The primary advantage of this procedure lies in the ability to end the pregnancy in the privacy of your own home. Please call and ask for a counselor who will assist you by providing further information.

Other Gynecological Services
ROUTINE GYNECOLOGICAL CARE - Pelvic Examinations, PAP Tests, Breast Examinations and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Testing.
CONTRACEPTIVE DEVICES - Diaphragm Fitting and Evaluations for Birth Control Pills.
PREGNANCY TESTING - Testing is done daily. An early detection test is available.
COUNSELING SERVICES - Birth Control and Pregnancy Options counseling.
LABORATORY SERVICES - RH Factor, Hemoglobin, STD Screenings and Pregnancy Testing.
